FREE ELECTRONS 2025

startup of the year

The Free Electrons program propels startups into the energy space through direct connection with some of the world’s largest utility partners and their ecosystems. Each year, the Free Electrons utility partners – CLP, EDP, E.ON, ESB, Hydro Québec, and Origin Energy – recognise one startup whose collaboration, innovation, and impact stood out throughout the program.

The Startup of the Year distinction celebrates measurable progress: from shaping strong partnerships and launching pilots to demonstrating tangible contributions toward the energy transition. It reflects how collaboration within Free Electrons translates into measurable impact – new technologies tested, relationships strengthened, and shared learning carried forward into the sector.
